Supplier Catalog & Margin

Know your cost on every pier. Price the job before you forget it.

A rep building an estimate in the driveway should not be doing markup math in their head. Oblyss carries the NFRA distributor catalog with your real cost on each product, then sets the sell price by the rules you decide. You pick the pier. The margin is already baked in.

Where the margin leaks out

Most shops price from memory, and memory is expensive.

Here is how it usually goes. A rep knows a pier runs “about two-something,” so they charge what feels right. The distributor raised the price in March. Nobody updated the pricing sheet. Now half your estimates carry last year’s cost and this year’s discount, and the profit walks out the door one line at a time.

The workarounds are their own headache. A spreadsheet only the owner understands. A printed price list that lives in the truck and goes stale the day it prints. A separate product tool that never talks to the estimate. Every one of them puts a person between the real cost and the number on the proposal, and people forget.

You do not have a pricing problem because your reps are careless. You have one because the cost of a pier, a bracket, an epoxy kit, and a length of drain lives somewhere other than the estimate they are building. Put the cost where the estimate is made, and the leak closes on its own.

The short version

Oblyss ships with the NFRA distributor catalog: piers, anchors, carbon fiber, epoxy, crawl space, waterproofing, and drainage. Each product carries your cost. A margin engine turns that cost into a sell price by rule, and you can override it per business, per category, or per product. The rep picks parts. The system does the profit math.
The catalog

Real distributor products, already loaded.

You do not build a product list from scratch. The master catalog comes from the NFRA distributors the trade already buys from, organized so a rep can find a part mid-estimate without leaving the line they are on.

NFRA distributors built in

Products from Nash Distribution, WP Supply, Earth Contact Products, and Foundation Rescue Supply, spanning piers, anchors, carbon fiber, epoxy, crawl space, and drainage. 540+ SKUs, ready to drop into estimates.

Search while you build

Filter the catalog by name, description, or category right inside the estimate builder. Category and subcategory grouping shows human-readable labels in the builder and on the PDF, never raw codes.

Warranty badges where they belong

Warrantable products carry a warranty badge on the line. Attach the product warranty to the job in one click, and it flows straight into your warranty records without re-keying.

Your Cost (COGS)

The number you actually pay, on every line.

The catalog carries a list cost, but you rarely pay list. So Oblyss gives you a Your Cost column you control. Set your negotiated cost per product at Catalog and Suppliers, override it whenever a distributor price changes, and that real cost rides along on every estimate line. When the estimate is saved, the cost is snapshotted onto the line, so a price change next month does not quietly rewrite the margin on a job you already sold.

Who sees it matters. Cost and margin are visible to the roles you permit, not to everyone with a login. A rep building the estimate can be shown the margin so they hold the line on discounts. A homeowner never sees any of it. What they get is a clean sell price on a professional proposal.

The margin engine

Set the markup once. Every estimate obeys it.

This is the part that stops the leak. Instead of pricing each line by feel, you set margin rules and the system calculates the sell price from cost. Want a blanket 40 percent across the board? Set it globally. Run thinner on high-volume piers and fatter on carbon fiber? Set it by category. Have one product that is always priced a specific way? Set it per product. The most specific rule wins, so a per-product rule overrides a category rule, which overrides the global default.

Your reps stop guessing and start selling. The margin is right on every line because a rule set it, not a memory. And when a distributor raises a price, you change one cost and every future estimate reprices itself. No reprinting a sheet. No hoping the team saw the email.

Margin rules · how a price is set
Your cost $210
Rule applied Category · Piers 40%
Auto sell price $350
Change the cost to $225 and the line reprices to $375 on the next estimate. One edit, every future job.
Make it yours

Per-business overrides and the products you actually sell.

Two shops buying from the same distributor still run differently. The catalog bends to how you operate, not the other way around.
A

Per-business markup

Your markup overrides are yours. Set the sell prices and margin rules for your company, independent of any other business on the platform. Your pricing strategy stays your pricing strategy.

B

Preferred products

Flag the piers, brackets, and materials you install most so they surface first in the builder. Reps quote from your real kit instead of scrolling a full catalog on every job.

C

Feeds the whole quote

Priced lines flow into the estimate, the Good, Better, Best proposal tiers, and the profit numbers on the job, so your margin is consistent from the first quote to the final report.

Prefer to keep drawing pier layouts in a dedicated tool? The catalog also accepts imported line items with cost fields from an ArcSite proposal, so margin visibility follows the parts in from there too.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the product catalog come from?
It is a master catalog built from NFRA distributors, Nash Distribution, WP Supply, Earth Contact Products, and Foundation Rescue Supply, covering piers, anchors, carbon fiber, epoxy, crawl space, waterproofing, and drainage. You start with the products the trade already buys, rather than building a list from a blank page.
From your cost plus a margin rule. You set margin globally, by category, or per product, and the most specific rule wins. When a rep adds a product to an estimate, the sell price is calculated automatically from your cost and the applicable rule, so the margin is correct without anyone doing the math.
Yes. Each product has a Your Cost column you control at Catalog and Suppliers. Enter your negotiated cost as a per-business override, and that real cost drives the margin on every estimate line. The list cost is just a starting point.
No. You update the cost once and every future estimate reprices from the new number. Estimates you already saved keep their snapshotted cost, so a price change does not quietly rewrite the margin on jobs you already sold. New quotes use the new cost automatically.
Cost and margin are visible to the roles you permit. You can show a rep the margin so they protect it during a discount conversation, while the homeowner only ever sees the sell price on a clean proposal. Nothing about your cost appears on the customer’s copy.
Yes. There is an optional per-line margin override for the job that needs a special number. It applies to that line only and leaves your global, category, and per-product defaults untouched, so one exception does not become a permanent change.
Yes. Warrantable products carry a warranty badge in the catalog, and you can attach the product warranty to the job in one click. It flows into your warranty records automatically, so the coverage a homeowner asks about at resale is already on file.
The catalog accepts imported line items with cost fields, so the parts and their cost come in with margin visibility intact. You keep the drawing workflow your techs like and still get consistent margin on the estimate that comes out of it.
